that's such bullshit. they are often very shrewd businessmen and woman, often families, that by global industry standards has the lowest worker conditions and pay. It's almost all slavery basically. Even sand pit mines in the Congo have better workers comp.

They also SELL you their produce, they don't grow it out of the kindness of their heart.

Everyone should grow their OWN food, and provide for themselves at a basic level. If I want to trade, meet me half way, but don't sell me the humble hat-in-hand farmer whose actually a multi-millionare, excluding the hectares of land they own.
