I've been thinking about starting the carnivore diet to help my gut and to lose a few kilos. Are you still on it? Got any tips for not getting bored of eating cuts of beef? Do you mix it up with chicken and fish? How strict should I be with say marinade or other toppings on my meats?

If you want to fix your gut:

Salt and ruminant meats, minimum 3 months. First 2-3 weeks, you might hate life, but after that, your gut will thank you.

Some people just cannot do well on that, but I would still try it for three weeks and go from there.

Considering this from my end, I will be trying this early next year. I will be eating meat and dairy, so not the strict "lion's diet."

I'm not on it. Only did it strictly for about 4+ months. It did "fix" everything, or the elimination of things that caused problems did.

I ate a variety of meat and seafood. Also, dairy and organs. Beef alone would make me bored quickly as well.

But I did stay away from sauces and marinades. On that front, I was and still pretty much a "boring" one with just salt and butter most of the time. Occasionally, I use black pepper, paprika and other spices.

I'd say stay away from those artificial sauces that has sugar or worst yet corn syrup for as long as you can, but definitely the initial couple of months so your body can get used to burning fat instead of sugar.

Yeah I've heard just a few months will sort the major issues and then you can start adding things back in. I might start next week. Perhaps even super strict for the first few weeks like nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh suggested.

Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
