Studies show that people who are classically defined as highly intelligent are particularly blind. Those who are particularly clever are presumably aware of their intellectual superiority and therefore assume that they can outperform others in most areas. Overconfidence and selective perception are particularly pronounced in them. Selective perception is just one of many cognitive distortions of the human mind. You don't have to have an IQ of 130 to be able to make good and positive long-term decisions. At the same time, you should not blindly rely on someone's decisions just because he or she has a high, classical intelligence.
