It's 4pm, the hottest part of the day and still no sign of the a/c man. Yikes. I have a portable unit coming but I have to find a creative way to vent the thing. The house we rent has all the windows painted shut. I'm finally going to work on them to see if I can get a few of them open. Or I'll have to try and run the hose to the dryer vent. Come to think of it, we have a small child. Windows that do not open are a huge safety risk in case of a fire.
