I'd grab any USB stick and boot Linux from there...or if you'd like to try out a bunch from a single USB try Ventoy

https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html

And of course there's Tails if you'd like to use a USB as your main OS:

No need (really) to install Linux native, but if you find a distro you like, then installing that makes sense. But for now, I'd just have her boot directly from a USB...

looks like you also did not read properly *smh*

I've been using linux for over 20 years. Never tried Ventoy, I always use balena etcher..

This question was about MacOSx Catalina and antvirus for a single purpose photoshop and video editing computer.

not about switching operating systems

Thanks for your input anyway lol

Sorry - should have been clearer...

Rather than looking for a Mac antivirus, if all you need is Photoshop / Video editing, then use the Mac for that (i.e. disconnect from the internet).

And then use USB linux for all other (i.e. risky) activities...simply isolate the Mac as a standalone workstation and use Linux for everything else.

Buy YMMV of course
