Nostr clients could implement this as optional choice.

I do remove relays which are timing out with this update, cool!
For the common user it's to much IMO. But I like the optionality for me.
I think it should be toggled based on if the user turns on “advanced mode”. otherwise for the average user, the ideal nostr experience is one where they don’t need to think about or understand relays

I like what I can see from amethyst and believe it might help curious minds to learn something. Also it is good to highlight the difference between #nostr and legecy social media, as hiding it may result in unrealistic expectations on user's side.
Yes and no. One of the great features of Nostr is that you can have multiple clients which do different things or do the same things differently.
Apps relying on a streamlined experience with easy to figure out UI should hide them either conpletely or bury them in settings. Apps for power users should display them and allow maximal control over them to the user.
Absolutely not .. I mean , they are not an onboarding discussion, but they are what keeps people proud of nostr ..
And the idea that this app has more than what I could grasp sitting over , is really exciting..
No. Relays are crucial infrastructure and underutilized. Hiding them assumes they’re already being used to their full potential in UI/UX
