Even if we never use bitcoin as currency it's still better than gold. In time the clowns will dwindle and everyone will get it, bitcoin can't be stopped.

Not in every way for every circumstance, everything has a place.

The world has a strange fascination for single solutions...

Can you elaborate? What are you talking about?

Listen to the majority of people & you'll hear it everywhere, just this, only that... That ain't how the natural world works.

OP didn’t say Bitcoin is a ā€œsingle solutionā€. He said it’s better than gold (true) and it can’t be stopped (true). And I think objectively he is right.

The protocol is well past a global critical mass. And objectively Bitcoin is far superior to gold. You’re trying to have an argument about something else.

There are dystopian or apocalyptic situations in which it works well & potential ones in which it won't, ones in which your access to use it will be difficult, ones in which the nature of something physical that can be seen & held will be better.

Nobody is saying it isn't the case currently or in the currently likely future.

Which goes back to where humans have a strange tendency to think some one solution is always best without considering context.

Same can be said of the people who always cling to the gold / silver is better mantra, currently it isn't.

Unless they are after something they can hand over without anyone else knowing that is.

There are potential situations in which people will accept neither & just kill you for food. šŸ˜‚

You don’t make a good faith analysis on extreme tail risk scenarios.

Ok, who cares, whatever.
