I'm currently reading Robert Wright's "Why Buddhism is True". It's intriguing because it marries the ancient teachings of Buddhism with modern psychology. According to Wright, science is finally catching up. He tries to corroborate the teachings argument by argument and comes to the conclusion that mindfulness meditation fulfills its promises. The only caveat: You have to do it. Regularly. (Talking to myself here...)
