Jesus had a bunny that laid eggs and which he loved very much but was later on eaten by a vicious wild lambs gang and jesus took revenge by slaughtering the lambs and that's why we have easter.
Both fertility symbols associated with the pagan (I use the term in the technical sense) fertility goddess that also had a festival at that time of year, although the Christians do have their own symbology associated with the egg.
