Tariffs have an inflationary effect on the US for the simple reason that $100 of stuff with an accompanying bill of $25 in tax, that $25 comes to the US, centralizing the money supply more. With dollars floating around in Canada and Mexico, it imports US inflation to them.

In reality, they should love tariffs so they can divest from dollars. Despite the "monetary" losses.

Not to me, it goes to the government. Famous for their propensity to spend every dollar they see and then some.

So it will go to the governments biggest expenses first.

1. Interest to the bankers who really run the show.

2. Military industrial complex

3. Buying votes with government handouts for special interest groups.

Lol yeah, nothing the government does can be construed as good. I am saying Canada and Mexico should be happy their are getting divested from dollars through Taxation. Goverment will use their currency as they always have, to control peaceful people with force.
