The way I see it, humans and centralization are obviously the week link. Imagine how much money and resources this guy has; obviously, he's a huge target, but still, he's being played with. I suspect he's backed down to some degree because things have happened on Telegram (more censorship). Now you don't know if it's been compromised in some way. My hope would be that once there's a proper mesh system working that they cannot defeat, it will draw the attention of governments, and platforms like Telegram will be left alone because they'll become secondary platforms where people share things, rather than where people discover things. That's a very important point. We don't need to communicate uncensored at very high bandwidth. We just need to be able to point each other to important information, people, and events.
