Does anyone run NOSTR relays on their own hardware from their home?

Same question with regards to Lightning node?

Yes! I run my #haven relay on an old laptop and my bitcoin and lightning nodes on another old laptop 😁

Just curious … why 2 separate machines?

I don't for security purposes. I wouldn't want my node sharing too many services that are connected to and sharing data on the Internet. I like to keep it as segregated as possible.

I have a segregated relay for the #nostr #safebox service I am running. Not directly accessible via internet, accessible via private vpn by internet-facing services.

I need to read up on Haven

I did a while ago using umbrel

I run a lightning node. Eventually, Ill run a relay, too.

I ended up getting a Start9 and they have nostr-rs as an app to install. Made it real easy. After I asked this question a while back I stopped when I could only setup via DNS, I wanted it over Tor. But, now there is Tor support. I think I will try to run a second relay on my old rasp3 for a fun project, that thing just collecting dust right now.
