Over the past year we've planted a peach tree, a pear tree, a fig tree and an apple tree. It took a while but they're all thriving now.
My six year old walked by them and said wow dad this was a great idea. Love watching him learn delayed gratification and work.
Also don’t you have to plant 2 apple trees. Think I read that once. Never planted apples

Depends, there are some self pollinating but we're planting one more apple tree (different kind).
You can also get some apple trees that have 3/4 types grafted on.
I’d defo want the mixed variety. That would be awesome. Especially if they ripened at diffemet times
