You have to get the sats off of an open dime before they aren't enough to pay the tx fee to get them off. Not a gambling man, but I'd bet that will happen before the hardware fails. 🙃
Last year my daughters 6th grade class buried a time capsule that they'll open when they graduate HS. She included an open dime with 100k sats on it... I'll let you know how it goes in 5 years 🙂
