Soooo im just learning but i would check my waters ph level all the time i water my plants. Not just my #cannabis plants but all my plants. Ideal ph water level for plant is between 5.8 to 6.5 of so. That way the roots can eat the nutrients of the soil or your feed. #plants #indoor #grow

These kits are cheap and never fail, not as precise but much more reliable than electronic meters
I have this and an electric one. Because when I mix in my nutrients, the water turns a little yellow. So it's hard with the drops
I've never bothered to check the ph.
You can usually tell the pH just by looking at the plants, if they aren't taking up a nutrient, and show a deficiency despite that nutrient being present, it's a pretty good indicator.
Cannabis is a great indicator, it'll tell you so much about the soil just by the way the plants look.
Healthy soil tends to balance itself out anyway.
If you're growing without soil, like a hydroponic type setup, pH is life or death.
But soil is way more forgiving
