Misery loves company.

DON’T FALL FOR IT!!!

Joking aside, try checking off on a calendar or flash card every time you get up and write. When you miss a day, mark it as a miss and try again tomorrow. Seeing how often you succeed will help drive motivation. Setting a low bar helps too. 5min a day is so easy you’ll likely end up doing more but won’t be riddled with guilt on days when you can’t.

I like that

The emotional component would be to look inward at why you feel compelled toward distraction when sitting down to write. Are you working on a project that challenges you on a deeper level? We tend to face a lot of inner resistance when challenged in ways we don’t feel capable of handling. I tend to “get distracted” when I need to narrate a particularly challenging character or story. This never really goes away but I think it gets easier the more we acknowledge it.

Anywho. Stop being gay and get writing!
