Muun is not a typical custodial lightning wallet. They allow you to instantly swap between on and off chain using submarine swaps.

You could use Loop from Lightning Labs for similar functionality if you had your own node.

If you want you could make alby non custodial with LNC and Zeus. Muun is fine but you will find it very on the not cheap side with the fees. I use both, muun is great for swaps on the go, but I wouldn’t put all my Lightning money in it

I would consider Muun as a pass through for getting data from lightning to “on-chain” wallet. Then, there is an enormous universe of solutions for secure storage.
