Need to dig out the center and 45 for the vent shaft, sand her up, stack rock, then burn some refuse.

Ended up changing location of the fire pit so that it isn’t near the septic drain field. Don’t think I was directly over top of it, but I don’t want to deal with digging it all up and replacing it on the off chance I was too close and it melts the tube shut.

“Finished” picture (I ain’t movin that dirt today) + progress pics.

Air is fed in through the extension in the stone ring to a vent underneath the (old, shitty, broken) fire grate. The vent is surrounded with loose bricks, so large debris shouldn’t be an issue. The vent is probably 8” off the ground, so ample room for wood/coals/ash to pile around but still beneath it. I can easily fit my shovel in to scoop ash.

Awesome.
