Fun fact: theatres only make profit on the concession stand. They bid percentage of ticket sales to get new releases faster. Over time, that percentage has shot up to 100%. So yes, inflation, but also that's the only way they turn a profit. At least, that's the way it used to work (in some places, in the U.S.).
