I took the time to figure out how ordinals work and how to decode inscriptions using bitcoin-cli so I could follow this episode better.
That was a useful exercise. Now to finish listening to the episode.

I can’t shake the feeling that if The Declaration of Independence was written today, it would be inscribed on the timechain with a content type of “text/plain” and the signers would sign it with Bitcoin private keys.
John Hancock would use a private key that controls a well known UTXO.
This feeling is the source of much of the ambivalence I have about inscriptions.
