i think relays arent supposed to talk to each other
Discussion
yeah it's kinna fucked up
partially decentraised if you think about it.
cyberia federates with >10,000 instances and I cbf clicking a button that many times (currently following like 10 relays) - there's no way you can match the decentralisation of fedi with an opt-in/manual system like this
real shit, its literally impossible to achieve that by hand. You either have a "clean" persona to crawl the relay page and update your client or don't bother using it
that being said - idk the technical details of the protocol well enough but like why cant we just make relays federate with each other - even if it's as simple as you make a relay and when you make your relay follow a relay it autofollows back along with all the relays that follow it
importing a txt file could do the trick, but yeah
this is dependent on the new relay creators actually subbing to the relay list thing and then dependent again on the relay list guy not going janny-mode on who he lets stay on the list. There will likely be multiple such lists created according to jannying disputes making the whole process more difficult.
nostr is curated for crpto fags and there's not going to be this mode anytime soon
idk if it's "curated" for them per se or if the zapping feature just drew them like flies to a pile of dogshit
have you seen "paid relays" they want you to pay to use them and you have to again pay per post
lmaooooo - I think I saw that on the nostr info page for hosting your public key as a service (lol lmao) but not for just paying to sub and post on them
>public key as a service
they will turn anything into a fucking business jargon
I kinna misremembered - it's more like DNS but for your username and you pay someone to add your public key mapping to your username (or just host yourself) (or just do not fucking care)

okay makes sense with the self-hosted thing. Why the fuck would you want it to be "verified"? these people have no concept of personality
