I read this too about the digitone 2. But you already have an a4 🤣
Did you make the 2 tracks with the digitone? The visuals are pretty cool too
yeah i'm literally using the A4 right this second. I love it for leads... arpeggios.... radioheady kinda droney atmospherey stuff and then automating the fx sends is where it comes in to itself for me...
the digitone is where my gas has gone too far. everyone says its like the best synth ever (the II) ... it hasn't clicked. i hope it does. i love fm stuff. i used to do synthwave stuff the whole time...
like this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yufr9SJ_qSY is me...

nah those are actually all ITB ... my reason for the GAS is i wanna make stuff with zero commercial intent that sounds real and expensive... like how Random Access Memories sounds expensive. I want people to hear its quality but be confused by the fact that its not trying to do anything commercial... that's the goal anyway. the things bitcoin allows us to pursue!
So you use hardware + daw. This is interesting. When you use rytm too? With overbridge?
well...
no! 😂
my process has been a lot of trial and error – getting back in to music after years away...
now I sequence EVERYTHING live on the Push 3 in standalone. I run loops on the Elektron boxes too.
Everything runs in to a Model1 which is a mindblowingly cool mixer that's kind of closer to a Sherman Filterbank than a mixer. It sculpts the sound, 100% analog signal path. I also have hardware sends from that to reverb and delay (OTO Bim and OTO Bam)
And then at the moment I record everything to audio. And that becomes my demo.
I'm gonna spend the next 3 months doing that. Zero judgement on the output. Just freely creating these moments and demos.
And then I'm gonna shortlist an 'album' and finish those tracks in Live.
I did start using Overbridge until I discovered how much better everything sounds out of the analog outs versus over USB and Overbridge. The gear sounds WAY cooler out of the analog outs... So... Yeah.
No Overbridge for me, and I started from a point of thinking Overbridge was the answer to all of life's problems...
From going down that rabbit hole, Overbridge applies compression... It has to – the Digitakt II as one example has 16 stereo channels at 24bit 48khz over USB 2... 🤔
I was just curious. I use analog output to zoom recorder. Done. Dawless. For sure less options than on the computer but I’m trying to stay away from it while playing. And also I’m not trying to record an album
yup thats it. i record in to a tp-7... same thing...
So much gear it’s crazy. Do you do this professionally or its a hobby?
this is 90% of my time. i run several businesses which i'm trying to offload and this is what i want to spend my time and life mastering
Very nice! You peobably know this already but you can get huge tax cuts if it’s your main occupation. Make a bogus youtube channel…
lol one of the businesses is a digital agency which now has a music consultancy ðŸ«
Excellent

and it is a lot of gear but it's part of the vision honestly, like i said...
i want to make this album
and then i want to create like live music videos in the middle of kenya which are half live shows half nature documentaries with synths blasting in to the masai mara 😅
so yeah
there is a vision!
