Most people want to avoid the headache of explaining themselves 10 years down the road. Like would you show up the airport with $20k cash and expect TSA to shrug? Bitcoin isn't fungible for starters and with AI on the scene, it's all getting tracked one way or the other. All 2.1 Quadrillion sats will be labeled as compliant or non-compliant. Business owners will have to decide if they want to make large mainstream profits that can be easily reported on Tax day or participate in the "black market" and potentially lose their license. For the record, I don't like it either.
Lightning and cashu + other future solutions make transactions completely anonymous
You wont be using btc in layer 1 to but things in shops
Btc wont be tracked even with AI
+ its in small shops interest to accept no KYC btc like they accept no KYC cash
+ you can always do btc with no KYC for cash with P2P and spend the cash
The mass of people will only do what is easy. So it is up to an enlightened minority to do the hard work of bankrupting and jailing and otherwise removing the bankers, their Tribe, and the "governments" which serve them.
