Maybe you don’t remember the fallout from the Catholic Church pedophilia expose. Tragically, it was the victims who were dragged into the public eye. I remember one man who was horrified by how curious random strangers were about hearing the sick details. I’m much more comfortable with the victims being protected and the investigations continuing without a public spectacle. Just because they are telling the public “nothing to see here” does not mean there are no investigations continuing. Why should your curiosity about who was abusing children be satisfied at the expense of an investigation and the privacy and peace of the victim? There may also need be actions to prevent violent retaliation from powerful people who could threaten the lives of innocent people. It’s just probably a lot more complicated than people are assuming and protecting innocent victims should be more important than giving fodder for curious sickos to gossip about online. I highly doubt the case is closed, but it’s not going to be on the tabloids for your enjoyment every step of the way.
