The fear of failing our kids...
I had a deep talk with Luba Vangelova about the fear of failing our kids, and I want to share a moment of this conversation with you:
"Until I realized, failing of what? What kind of success am I preparing him for? Is that even the #success I believe in for myself?"
It's the widely spread definition of success, that makes me cringe. Because I had "successful" moments in my #career, measured by the societal norm of success. But looking back, these were the times I felt miserable, I wasn't aligned with my own vision of life at all.
So when it comes back to what are we preparing our kids for? What are we afraid of?
And this goes out to all the #homeschooling, #unschooling, #worldschooling families - we have the right to redefine what success looks like, and act upon our own standards.
BUT YOUR KIDS WON'T FIT INTO SOCIETY.
