This is very true. But now some right wingers are taking it way too far and saying that if it wasn't a straight white male then it was woke DEI and wasn't earned. The fact that they think this is BECAUSE of DEI. DEI ruined the achievements of all of us in minorities who had to work harder to achieve an equal footing by making us look entitled.

I wrote about it, a while back. Life is harder for minorities, in IT, now. Hiring decisions have become too politicized.
My father and I both entered the field, last century, and the idea of DEI didn't exist. Looking back, this was totally awesome. I was a 17-year old black girl, when I got my first engineering role, and my colleagues were mostly middle-aged white guys, and nobody thought this was weird. 😅
