Ok but which are the "opposition" arguments? I'm really not informed about that. I'm not pro EV, but I think elettricy will naturally be a more manageable resource and perhaps even when produced by fossils this will permit a more green outcome.
EV cars cost more? Like any other technology before it become mass addopted. The cited law is about 2035!
I just wrote an opposite argument 2 posts before. If you don't believe in it talk with a proper electrician engineer. They will tell you what kind of cable is needed to charge just 100 EV cars. Where I live it will be needed hundreds of those. If you're interested in the EVs you need to do your own research because no government will fund it. Let's not forget the child labor and the extra pollution/energy for making those metals too... Oh yes, it is in the far Africa...
You cited the opinion by one engineer, 15 yers old. I don't doubt his professionalism but it however a single point of view about what is a mere technical difficulty about move to EV. Call EV a "scam" implies your are demonizing all the people and the ideas about it, that is quite bold. It surely has his problems, like organize the distribution, the productive process and the wasting management, but they are not so different from the tecnology we use daily. I would try to have a more positive, even if critic, attitude. I will search and read more about this, thanks for the hint!
Note: I own a petrol car and I'm not in hurry to buy an EV. If I could I would move only by bicycle and public transports :)
I'm not talking about wasting less or more energy I'm just saying that it makes sense for European countries to stop depending on oil, diesel or whatever. To be less dependent in terms of economy. Look what happened with the gas prices, inflation is huge right now
