Was Brexit just an escape from EU for not being draconic enough? More freedom for the "right wing" govt to bring less freedom to plebs at faster pace than the good ole behemoth of EU ever could. A truly incredible feat, not gonna lie.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean EU did try to punish them and it did succeed to a point, but brits hurt themselves more than EU ever could.
