Why do people care so much about followers count? What does it matter?

Like how does it improve your general wellbeing? Is it mental or?! 🤔

I only care if I follow too many dead npubs and they’re clogging my list.

Unfollow... but that list always shows... of who you follow... so that is not a big deal...

It is if you follow over 1000 users and don’t want to go down the list one by one to see which ones are active. So I’m building an app to do this.
