Celestia's Ginger Upgrade Boosts Data Throughput and Reduces Block Times

Celestia has announced its Ginger upgrade, which promises enhanced data availability and transaction speed. The new iteration, celestia-app v3, is set to introduce a twofold increase in data throughput by cutting block times from 12 to 6 seconds. This upgrade also introduces several Celestia Improvement Proposals (CIPs) to refine the network's efficiency and governance.

The Ginger upgrade will roll out to the Mocha testnet in November and the Mainnet Beta in December, according to the Celestia Blog. It is expected to significantly boost throughput by mitigating packet loss issues prevalent in traditional congestion control methods.
