There is no shadow banning on nostr, yet.

What if a very popular person only chooses to relay messages via 1 relay, that happens to be a paid relay? Only paying “subscribers” can now read his messages, right?
OR, do relays also talk to each other 🤔 and pass on relayed messages?
Even so, those relays would still all have to pay to this one payed relay that has the original messages.
It’s not shadow banning, but an exclusion system to keep the non-paying plebs out.
Some paid relays push messages to multiple public ones (and read from there too). Example: nostr.wine https://github.com/nostr-wine/filter-relay#public-relays-read-filter-list
Nostr.wine pushes? I thought they only pulled? I need to look into relays some more
Read here: https://filter.nostr.wine
Right now most (if not all) paid relays are pay to write and free to read.
What if you post a lot of obnoxious stuff and one after the other relay just blocks you because they get tired the DCMA or other type of takedown request?
Govenrments can still ban/block/prevent you from posting this way 🤔
To prevent DCMA’s or takedown requests from governments and copyrights organisations it’s imperative that #nostr relay’s are also (or ONLY) discoverable on @TO, @I2P, @Indra or other yet to be invented dark-web protocols.
