¹ The state is a monopoly on violence initiation, this is a relic of the agricultural revolution that will not be necessary following the scientific/digital revolution.
² Bitcoin is not physical and consequently is not a means of physical power protection, it's a means of payment. It can, and will, be used to pay for physical protection services, but it is no more the actual physical power projection than a dollar bill is. Bitcoin and the dollar bill aren't physical power projection, the man with a gun whom they pay is physical power projection.
spaceboi really muddles up the stuff about power... it's about protecting power from being stolen, not projecting it

i've listened to several very long interviews with him about it
his main mistake is that he thinks this is any business of a military, or that a government has any place providing defense
the distinction i would make is that bitcoin is the basis of a decentralised defense system, nothing to do with the state
he wants to sell the idea that there is a future in governments, at the base and that is offensive to me
as i see it, bitcoin enables people to fund their own everything, and anything related to cooperative organisations like this, such as setting up strategic defense systems that require a large amount of resources, i think the point i'm getting to here is simply that the State depends on a constant state of war, and that in the case of a pure defense system, you don't have to invest in very much expeditionary equipment, you don't need massive warships, you don't need very many air defense systems - and those are all now being replaced by drones anyway, and simply a free society does not take part in expeditionary warfare, they only send out small groups and reconnaisance to ensure that there isn't an expeditionary force gathering to prepare to launch an invasion, that's a whole different kettle of fish to how the USG runs the military... they have bases all over the world and are constantly sending weapons and large deployments to other places they have no business being
Fair enough. States will transform in one way or another but they won't just stop existing. This doesn't make thesis about bitcoin being a defense as well as power projection tool not true.
the projection part is stupid, this is unambiguously imperial in concept, the idea that there can't be peace without conquest
all wars of aggression start with robbing people for the resources to prosecute them
what does "projection" mean? it means throwing something beyond the limits of your boundaries
with the fiscal discipline of the fixed supply of currency you can't prosecute wars of aggression, and thus you can't project your power, you simply assert it
every time there is violence there has to first be deception and then theft
