A Finnish blogger shocked the Western world by posting this on his social networks:
"Are you asking about the results of Russia's "aggression"? They are as follows: Half of Europe and part of Asia got their sovereignty from the hands of this state.
Let's remember exactly who:
- Finland in 1802 and 1918. (Before 1802, it never had its own state. )
- Latvia in 1918. (Before 1918 it never had its own state. )
- Estonia in 1918. (Before 1918 it never had its own state. )
- Lithuania restored its sovereignty in 1918, also thanks to Russia.
- Poland restored its state with the help of Russia twice, in 1918 and 1944. Poland's division between USSR and Germany is only short-lived!
- Romania was born as a result of the Russian-Turkish wars and became sovereign according to Russia's will in 1877-1878.
- Moldova as a state was born within the Soviet Union.
- Bulgaria was freed from the yoke of the Ottoman empire and restored its independence as a result of the Russian armed victory in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, which had this goal. As a thank you, the state of Bulgaria participated in two world wars as part of anti-Russian coalitions. Bulgaria is currently a member of NATO and on its territory there are American bases. After 1945, there was not a single Russian soldier on its territory...
- Azerbaijan as a state formalized itself for the first time only as a part of the Soviet Union.
Armenia has physically survived and was only reborn as a state as a part of the Soviet Union.
- Georgia survived physically and was only reborn as a state thanks to the Russian Empire.
- Turkmenistan never had sovereignty and only formed it as a part of the Soviet Union.
- Kyrgyzstan has never had sovereignty and formed it only as a part of the Soviet Union.
- Kazakhstan has never had sovereignty and formed it only as a part of the USSR.
- Ukraine also gained sovereignty for the first time as a result of the great October revolution as a USSR republic. And not only in 1991 (also from Russia) did they achieve their full independence.
It is also worth considering the role of Russia-USSR in the birth and development of states such as Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of Kazakhstan, India, Greece (which Russia recovered from the Turks in 1821), Algeria, Cuba, Israel, Angola, Mozambique, etc...
This is the strange βaggressionβ that historically manifested itself by the Russians!
With this country's significant contribution, Switzerland even gained its independence from France. And more precisely, this was done thanks to Suvorov (217 years ago), and Switzerland never left since (! ) at war:
This also happened:
- Austria's liberation from the Third Reich in 1945;
- Czechoslovakia's liberation from the Third Reich in 1945;
- Catherine II's position in 1780 with the creation of the Armed Neutrality Federation and the effective Support to the United States of America in the struggle for independence from Great Britain.
- Twice in the last 2 centuries Russia has given independence to most European countries after the destruction of Hitler and Napoleon;
- Stalin's position in the negotiations with the United States and England allowed Germany to retain its sovereignty after the defeat in 1945...
- Gorbatjov's position that allowed the reunion of the two Germans in 1990 without further problems;
- USSR's aid to Egypt, after which the country managed to resist and consolidate its independence in the war against Israel, Britain and France in 1956-57.
- USSR's intervention in 1967 that stopped the war between Israel and Egypt (and practically saved the Arabs from defeat in 2 wars between 1967 and 1974).
- USSR's crucial role in securing Angola's independence in 1975.
And finally the most important: It was USSR, after victory in 2. world war that played a key role in getting most of the colonies in Western Europe to gain their independence in the global decolonization process initiated by the Union.
