A guy checked into a hotel for 1 night for $200 in new york, then he sued the owner of the hotel and won the right to live there for 5 year free by demanding a lease.

Why did he sue for?

He damanded a lease from them for no reason cause according to New York laws, the owners qualify as land lords and tenants can demand 6 month leases from land lords, so he took them to court over it and won the right to live for free there 5 years.
