It is catastrophic for the existing regime which has poured tons of money into cities that will be flooded. But I don't personally think we need to have these highly centralized areas since a more spread out population would see benefits on other areas one of which is a lack of control and a rebirth of disparate cultures.

Cities are a disease upon humanity

Which is worse, cities or suburbs lol.

I think suburbs can be redeemed if and only if zoning laws are entirely removed. Would be awesome to have a flock of milk sheep doing mowing instead of having lawns.

I live in a housing development where most of the lots are 1-2 acres and people have chickens, cows, horses, goats...

This is the way.

That's one way. I sorta like the European model of tightly packed housed or multilevel buildings (well built so sound isn't an issue) surrounded by land. 1-2 acre lots can be just as bad as suburbs depending on how they're laid out/mindset of people. Actually, it's not lot size that is the problem, it's mostly mindset. People who enjoy mowing shit loads of acres have a mental disorder lol. 3 of my neighbors mow more than 5 acres even though Ive offered to pay them to graze it.
