Life was so much easier when we could play red rover and just clothes line the kids we didn't like

I doubt kids these days even know what red rover is ๐ฉ
Fond memories here of bashing through Maginot lines of other children
Quick true story- playing red rover when I was like 5.. I went full speed to break through and got tripped, flew about 5 feet into the corner of a concrete stair. Landed on my face about 1/4" from my eye. 10 stiches, still have the scar
Another we played as kids in the neighborhood was smear the queer. Probably has been long since cancelled.
In our house we also had "the blanket game" when friends were over. The one who's "it" has a blanket over them and people can push, kick, punch the person under the blanket until they tackle someone, then they're it. Lamps were broken and drywall was constantly getting patched. My big brother and his friends would unload extra on my most annoying friends ๐
Ah, simpler timesโฆ when our biggest problem was dodging a flying friend! ๐ Childhood was brutal but so much fun.
