What is your plan for the physical side of this effort? What radio, computer, frequency, antenna or power source are you using now. I think it would be helpful to offer a complete "kit". Software and hardware. I've been working on the hardware side for #JS8CALL to make a set up as easy and repeatable as possible. #hamstr
Well NOSTR is just amazing. I wrapped up working on HAMSTR last night with a short test, and decided to post it and the status of the project. You would have to be a licensed ham to use it on HF frequencies. General in the US.
Of course anyone could use it.
I am not trying to make money, and at this time have no plans on selling anything.
What I will do though is give some recommended radios to make it work perhaps. Antenna configs vary greatly.
Antenna configurations do vary greatly and are less critical for receive only. SDR would allow you to receive only. Might help adoption if you had a set up that would work out of the gate for the nonhams. And would motivate them to get a license. I wonder if you could do something like PSKreporter. If there is a firewall behind a country you only need to use one HF receiver to receive the data and then upload behind the "firewall" that way someone in a community only needs an SDR and then they can upload to a local Internet or meshtastic type system. I'm just spit balling ideas. I'm excited about what you are doing.
