Nostr would be ideal for him to build his platform on. Heās been fucked by Google in court and relies on patreon subs to supplement his tour income.
He could setup a subscriber paid relay as a paywall, get his shit zapped, never have to deal with takedowns, not risk his subscriber base going poof šØ when patreon gets pressured to get rid.
But as you say, heās way too statist I think to take a leap like that. He wants politics to continue so long as itās Labor in charge
