Ah, the good old "it wasn't real socialism".

Socialism is inherently authoritarian, as you have a group of illuminated ones who raid the wallet of others who don't necessarily want their wallets to be raided, supposedly for their own benefit, while the socialist enriches himself and his friends, and throws some crumbs to the poor.

All other things being equal, in a socialist system you need higher taxes, as all the utopias they promise must be paid by someone, and it sure as hell isn't gonna be from the socialists' own pocket.

Furthermore and most important of all, this top-down style of control is by nature oppressive, as you have the few imposing their will on the many - or else.

Free-market capitalism is the opposite of that. Grassroots bottom-up, mutual benefit, voluntary transactions, respect for life and property, and no imposing utopias on anyone who doesn't want them and doesn't want to pay for them.

Socialism sucks and always will suck.

"group of illuminated ones who raid the wallet of others"

so socialism is when taxes?

"Ah, the good old "it wasn't real socialism"."

how did you derive this from the comment you responded to?

"mutual benefit, voluntary transactions"

are you familiar with the Coconut analogy?

"it sure as hell isn't gonna be from the socialists' own pocket."

are socialists exempt from taxation? no

1. No, not what I said. That's a statist thing, and all socialism is statism, but not all statism is socialism.

2. By the second paragraph of his post.

3. Yes, I find it stupid and it's easily debunked. Just search online outside your bubble.

4. The useful idiot pleb who votes socialist is often not taxed or taxed very low. The virtue signalling pleb who votes socialist and has their wallet raided for 50% or more is some mixture of guilty, virtue signalling, masochistic and dumb. I was talking about the politician, or have you not noticed the propensity for socialists (not just socialists in all fairness) to somehow be quite materiously well off after some years in public service?

Anyway, I wish you luck with your socialism, just try not to drag other people who don't care and don't want it into bankrolling your wallet and your utopias.

Oh, right, it wouldn't work then. It needs mass-coercion to work.

And therein lies the problem.

Sincerely, you just confirm what I say. System will be fuck by human who wants exploit other human.

It’s literally the same problem with capitalism.

On that part we don't disagree.

No system is perfect, but some systems are better than others and produce better results.

But unconscious humans driven by petty things such as a lust for power, greed, status, a need for recognition, influence (to name a few) will try to appropriate, co-opt or modify the system for their own selfish needs, as unconscious humans let them and do nothing, until the rot is so big it becomes so obvious and something must be done about it.

Rinse and repeat.

Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.
