My question is then: how is this person so sure about claiming that Libre is better when it has not undergone any battle testing?

I can’t speak to those claims about Lightning but proclaiming Libre is better seems very odd to me.

Criticism might be on point, I'm no expert. But their solution is far from optimal if it needs a token to work.

I agree. That’s why I also don’t like Liquid. Although it seems to have relatively good governance. But still.
