I'm at a café having a chat with the barista, she's of Zoomer age and she's over-sharing about a recent breakup.

I've gotta admit the psychoanalytic dimensionality to her story was absolutely wild to me. This "attachment style" and that "trauma response".

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she felt she could talk to me; it was clearly a hard time. But the dissection of, what is simply, a broken heart is much more sad. It's also cope and not honest.

Recently I have twice been asked by two people in their early twenties whether I am "high emotional IQ, or rational".

I know this shit was invented long before these wretched souls were even born, but they're the first ones to have been brainwashed with it from kindergarten age all the way until now. They will psychoanalize you by how you order your coffee, but need the register to tell them what's your change.
