the nip-46 implementation of gossip is great

once the "remember" toggle works I'll recommend using this instead of installing an nsecbunker at home which is much more involved

just run gossip on an old laptop or on your node and leave your keys at home

The "who is this pubkey asking me to sign stuff" part of NIP-46 is very dark still. Like who am I authorizing? Should I really?

Well to get to this point in gossip you need to have added a NIP-46 account and generated a bunker url with a randomly generated secret (passphrase) beforehand, and used that to connect your NIP-46 client. So you won't get this screen without having shared that secret (passphrase) under Account -> Nostr Connect.
