You may not realize this, but some people don't do #TheFollowThing because they have personal #relays where they allow/block npubs to the relay, or they use #DVM feeds or other #algos, so they keep what they're looking at **private**.

Some people have moved on, technology-wise, but those are some of the most-active npubs.

I don't get it, you mean they follow people without them noticing? but is hiding that really important?

What purpose does it serve to publicly broadcast who you are following/muting?

I mean, think about it, it's the equivalent of publishing all the contacts in your address book. "These are the people whose email I read." ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I suppose it depends on what you are trying to do. I don't care much. I believe most information should be as free as possible. If someone finds that I am a sincere, well informed persona - following or seeing who I follow can help them get into a loop of high signal content and ideas. I use other peoples follows to sift through this type high signal data. If I follow someone who consistently boosts someone else without adding valuable original input I would much rather just follow the former. So I find the open book useful.

With regards to privacy, I don't say what I consider private online. No matter what the protocol.

I Have no idea about such things. Thank you for sharing.
