A humble shepherd named Dimitrie lived a life of prayer and simplicity near the river Basarabi. When he felt his end was near, he laid down between two stone slabs to await death. Years later, his relics were discovered incorrupt and radiating a sweet fragrance. Many miracles were attributed to his intercession, especially healings.
