How do you provide the gun for a murder and not be charged with accessory?

The dude is playing for his team in the tourney.

Not legally charged is the excuse everyone gives.

Maybe I don't understand the legal system. But if I provide someone with a gun that they use in a murder am I not legally able to be charged with accessory?
