Flan?
Did you ever know Julian Kayser? He used to own Kayserโs in Springdale Mall, before that it was on Dauphin Street? He used to make specialty foods, of which flans were one, and sold them at Cathedral Square farmers market in downtown Mobile. They were heavenly!

A dear, dear man. We were very close, both vendors at Palafox Market. He was the kind I could call at 5AM on Saturday to see if he was attending the market (if there was a high percentage of rain in the forecast). He was then in his 80s, but still did that market for 10 years, and was beloved by all.
My favorite! These are called flans by the dear old genteel fellow whom I used to buy them from at the farmers market. They are divine!
