X-ray results.

I finally got to speak to a doctor about my x-ray results.

The good news is there was nothing too worrying to be found in my lower vertebrae. No fractures, which is always a concern with my various weakened vertebrae and ilium.

However there is evidence of osteoarthritis and disc degeneration in my lower back, particularly at the lumbosacral joint, which is a new issue, on top of the damage to L1 itself, L2, and L5.

So now I am being referred to a physiotherapist, and a pain specialist. In the meantime I have the ok to do gentle exercise, stay on top of pain relief, and of course to generallykeep things moving.

I was also reminded that I am no longer in my thirties, so to bear that in mind with my recovery goals. Which sounds a bit depressing, on top of the further degenerate rather than healing, ngl.

Check out a book called Back Up by Liam Mannix - so much in there basically debunking Western medicine’s approach to back pain. Truly helped me recover from what I was led to believe was pain caused by so-called ‘degenerative disc disease’ (for context, I’m in my late 20s).
