Banded Malayan Coral Snake

When this snake feels threatened, a dramatic display ensues.

It is able to twitch wildly, flatten its body to the ground, as well as flip over to reveal its black-and-white ventral (underside) scales.

These scales are a clever mimicry of a (much more) venomous krait.

These defensive moves help deter predators and/ or make the snake much harder to be picked off the ground by predators.
