I kind of think of it like sending emails to public or private broadcasters for all to see if they tune in to that particular station or stations.
Helps people understand why snort.social and primal.net and Damus and Amethyst are all nostr in the same way that Hotmail and Gmail and protonmail are all email being served to you by a variety of clients accessing the interoperable email protocol.
It's kind of alien to them. A social media platform that doesn't just have a centralized company with one website and one app (or one ecosystem a la google/apple)
