It has become difficult to farm in residential areas because of the cats.

Was just picking up cat shit and closing a hole this morning 🫠

We nearly gave up, in frustration, because they dug up all the baby plants or would just lie down on top of them and crush them.

Filled entire beds with gravel, to stop them from being cat toilets. 😭

Lay out orange or lemon peels, garlic, mustard or coffee. That should keep em away.

Yes, that works, but you have to keep reapplying it.

I don't think it's cool having cats roaming around freely btw. Among others, for that reason.

To be honest, I think some of the cats spend more time around our house than in their own houses.

We have some nearly-permanent feline squattors who have gotten accidentally trapped in our garage or our basement, when we left the house for weeks. People had to get my MIL to let them out, but we had no idea they were in there.

This wasn't a problem, in my youth, but there are now probably more cats than children.

You can put some plastic grid so that the cats can't dig...

Yes, that's what my MIL finally had to do. Nothing else helped.

I'm not planting anything this year, as we should be finally moving into her house. Supposedly.
